Mulch Madness Why Mulch Delivery Is the Way to Go

Technically, the term "Mulch" can refer to almost any layer of landscape material that is applied to the surface of soil, including rocks. Here at Little Dumps, when we say "mulch" (or "mulch delivery") we're referring to wood, bark or other "organic" matter. The purpose of this mulch is to act as a protective cover to your landscaped areas. Because our mulches are lightweight, we can carry large volumes of these bulky products in each delivery load, saving countless hours and trips by car or smaller pickup.

The Many Benefits of Mulch

Another benefit of wood mulch is that it helps to regulate soil temperature. During hot Montana summers, wood mulch helps to insulate the soil, keeping it cooler and protecting plant roots from heat stress. In cooler weather, wood mulch helps to retain soil warmth, which can help plants to grow more quickly and produce larger yields.

By improving soil health and suppressing weed growth, wood mulch helps promote a strong ecosystem in your garden and can aid in reducing soil erosion by slowing the flow of water and trapping sediment. This can be particularly important if you live in an area with steep slopes or heavy rainfall.
